To DTV or not to DTV...that is STILL the question

Well...I don't know how many of you that read this are concerned or even know about the transition to Digital TV, but for those of you that have been confused about how all of this is going to work....worry not! The date has been moved out to June 12, 2009. The date was originally set for February 17th, but the House of Representatives thought that changing it was a good idea. I am not certain of their logic here, but I will take a crack at it. I think that the decision to move the transition date came because there is still confusion over what the DTV transition is, and due to that confusion it might be better to move the transition out of the frigid winter months and into the summer. The reason for THIS is mostly due to the fact that if there are issues, it would be difficult to make physical changes to someone's home in the cold months of winter. The other reason is that during the winter more people watch TV, and therefore it would be disastrous to those folks if their service suddenly quit working. I personally don't watch much TV. The most TV I watch is already digital! I watch alot of my TV shows whenever I have the time via the Internet! Hulu.com, Joost, Netflix, and several others offer the ability to tatch your TV shows with only 15-30 Second commercials instead of 5 minutes, and sometimes the commercials are eliminated completely anyway!

O well... It will be interesting to see if this change sticks.
